Layering Skincare Correctly

The order in which you apply your products matters. As a general rule, you should always layer your skincare from the thinnest, most watery consistency to the thickest, most occlusive formula.

The Layering Order

• Start with water-based serums or toners.
• Move to thicker creams and lotions.
• Finish with oils or heavy occlusives.

Applying thin products first allows them to penetrate the skin before a heavier layer creates a barrier. If you apply a thick cream first, it may prevent thinner serums from effectively reaching the skin. Always allow each layer to dry slightly before applying the next to prevent pilling and ensure your products work as intended.

Apply products from thinnest to thickest to ensure every layer is absorbed effectively.
