Adding a new active is like starting a new workout routine. If you go from zero to marathon, you are going to get hurt. The goal is consistency, not intensity.

The Phase-In Method

  • Week 1-2: Apply just twice a week at night.
  • Week 3-4: Move up to every other night if your skin is calm.
  • Monitor: If you notice flaking or stinging, pause and scale back.

Always buffer your active by applying a thin layer of moisturizer before or after your treatment. This helps slow down the absorption rate, which gives your skin time to adjust to the new stimulus without throwing a tantrum.

If your skin starts to sting, stop the active and focus solely on hydration until it calms down.
